2012: ACC Academic Honor Roll member ... had an 0-0 record and a 0.00 ERA in two relief appearances ... in 1.0 innings pitched, he allowed two hits (.333 opponents' batting average) and one walk with one strikeout ... did not allow either of his two inherited baserunners to score ... pitched a scoreless ninth inning with one strikeout against Western Carolina on Apr. 4; it was his first career appearance ... made his other appearance against #17 N.C. State on Apr. 15 ... played for Florence in the Coastal Plain League in the summer, where he was 0-0 with an 8.59 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 14.2 innings pitched over nine relief appearances.

Before Clemson: Selected to the North Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star game as a senior ... third-team AAAAA all-state as a senior ... first-team all-district as a senior ... had a 6-1 record, 2.91 ERA, and 61 strikeouts in 50.1 innings pitched along with hitting .460 with four homers and 36 RBIs as a senior ... had a 6-3 record , 2.61 ERA, and 46 strikeouts in 40.2 innings pitched as a junior ... lettered three times in baseball at Carroll Senior High, where he was coached by Larry Hughes.
